This phone is carrier unlocked. All I had to do was move the SIM card from the old phone into the new phone and it worked right away on Verizon. As long as your sim is not locked to the phone in your account settings in Verizon, you can unlock it in your account if so. Was easy for me. Hope you have the same experience. You can keep the number tied to your sim card.
