you should be able to use your current activated sim card. I have T-mobile and put my sim card in this phone without contacting them to switch to a new phone. There is a tool in the box to use for sim card installation.

I needed more data storage so I went to my provider, they got my sim card and inserted it into the sim card tray, they sold me additional card with more storage and also inserted it to to sim card tray, slid it into my new Motorola, and boom, my new phone MotoroaG7 was good for use.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.depends on your sim card. I bought this phone for my husband and we use Consumer Cellular which runs on the AT&T network. I took the sim card out of the old phone and put it in the new one. I did need a little help from CC to tweak the settings.
