“I have Cox cable. The device I have is a combination of cable and wifi. If I add the Google wifi system will it cause issues with the cable/wifi box?”

Google Nest Wifi system can work with your Cox Cable modem/router combo. We recommend setting up Nest Wifi router as your primary router directly wired to the modem with an Ethernet cable for a reliable and larger coverage, and then disabling the Wi-Fi functionality of your Cox Cable combo to avoid Double NAT cases.

It shouldn't, but your mileage could vary! With a different WiFi set up, I had a Comcast router/modem combo, and worked flawlessly. Check the user manual for your box, and looks for options about turning OFF the built-in WiFi, or turning the box into a router-only mode.
