“In my office I have just an Ethernet cable coming from the wall. Do I need a separate modem or router or can I just hookup Ethernet cable to the nest”

• The great thing about this is, that it acts just like a normal router. You'll be fine just plugging the Nest router into the Ethernet cable from the wall.

• Nest Protect doesn't have an Ethernet port. Wi-Fi connection from a router or modem/router combo is one of the requirements for setting up Nest Protect.
