A switch like this one simply adds more connections to your network. It is not a smart switch which can give you more control over your data flow.

Please try again later.I can't answer your question about speed; however, you can take one of the ports on the router, disconnect an item, then run an Ethernet cable from the AC1750 to the switch, and hook up the component you disconnected from the router, and still have four (4) ports available for other items. Note: Your AC1750 may have in the advanced settings an option for QoS (Quality of Service). I find that disabling it will increase your speeds.

If all devices plugged in use the internet, then they will still all rout through the router. If, somehow, you had 4 devices that talk a lot locally, to each other, routing them through the hub COULD reduce traffic to the router.
