It has no fan and is absolutely silent.

It is fanless. It runs completely silent. Doesn't emit any signal frequincies that could interfere with other hardware. I recommend this purchase if you need additional ports.

if it isn't fanless it's extremely quiet. I believe it has no fan.. there isn't enough heat generated to require one, but I'd put it somewhere with good ventilation

It (5 port gigabit switch model GS605NA) is fanless and therefore silent.
