No. A switch is something you basically plug into a router to gain additional Ethernet ports. A router is needed to make one address from your modem into multiple addresses so you can share your Internet connection with multiple devices. Most routers provide a wifi signal and/or multiple Ethernet ports so a switch is only needed if your router doesn't have enough ports (places to plug a cable in).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wile this Ethernet switch (hub) will allow you to share an internet connection between multiple computers on the same local area network (LAN), it does not include many of the higher-function features found in most broadband/wireless routers. This includes Wi-Fi access, wireless security, and firewall tools.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is an unmanaged switch. It cannot be used as a router, It is not DHCP-capable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it can't. It's a simple switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not a router, it allows you to connect your router to other CAT 5 lines in your wired home though. Think of this as a hub for you router to connect other outlets in you home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Use the Ethernet Out port on your modem and connect it to the middle port on the rear of the switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If this is all you have between your cable modem and your devices, it may not be ideal since it is not a managed device and does not provide any networking services like a firewall, DHCP (needed to provide IP addresses to connected devices), If you have other components that do this already and you simply want to add 4+1 ports of connectivity, then it is great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it definitely can, but I would recommend a different switch. This one doesnt do its job too efficiently/well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you need a router I would suggest using the Netgear N750 dual band or above. It has built in plugs so you can expand and is easy to set up and enjoy. Ive found that Netgear is the most compatible with Charter cable in our area also.
