• Should be able to, assuming you have an ethernet line that runs to the wireless router. This is a gigabit switch, so it should do the job and quickly.

• I wouldn't recommend it, because it would serve no useful purpose. The router is what assigns IP addresses to all devices in your home. If your modem and router really need to be that far apart, then I would recommend connecting your router to your modem using a long Ethernet cable.

• If you are talking about an ethernet cable of course you can run it any length that the ethernet cable can reach. And yes it can go into the Apple Time capsule, however, the Apple time machine will most likely conflict with the other wireless router, check with Apple

• Answer - Yes! I run my Cable Modem into my 4-port NETGEAR router, which then feeds into my NETGEAR splitter, running a company laptop and a personal desktop to the same room.

• Yes. That's exactly what I did but I use cable output to router and one output from router to this switch for security purpose if you have two line available on room . Else use it to switch then one for router.
