“So if I used this as the main extender could I hypothetically use a 2nd NETGEAR EAX20 to extend off of that? My router is in my basement and I plan to put one extender on my main floor and then a 2nd in my garage. Would this work?”

I have not tried that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work the same way. It should extend any wireless network, as long as it can connect (signal strength)
