You will need the hotel's wifi user name and access password. This device should otherwise work with a hotel wifi network. It connects pretty much the same way your phone or computer connects over wifi. Again it will need the wifi network user name and password that you would use to access the network from your phone or computer.

It is designed for home use which is typically 4 users doing streaming, music, etc. So I don't think it would be suitable for more than maybe twice that. Also, to connect it the first time, the WPS button on the main router must be activated. The extender is then linked to it. After that, the same username and password for the original router will work with the extender and devices will connect to the strongest signal. This is not an item you would use in different locations. If you're thinking you could use it at different motels to make their wifi better, this isn't what you want. They really don't make anything like that. Hope that helps.
