• That depends more on the software on the CDROM. The adapter itself is USB 2.0. So the adapter should work.

• Yes this will work with Windows XP. I have one installed on a Windows 7 machine and another one installed on a Windows XP machine. The installation is easy. I do suggest installing the "Driver only" option when asked by the CD.
