You should either try to open/forward ports on your router to a static IP you've setup. I would try that first before purchasing another adapter. Unless the adapter you currently use is outdated with old wireless technology. If that's the case, it doesn't hurt to upgrade. Sounds like the problem stems from your router though.

Due to the size of it and your question, I’m assuming you have wireless WiFi. If that’s the case, this will certainly help, but if you want the best connection with no packet loss, a direct, in wall connection is the best and fastest option. This is a good secondary alternative, but again, it will only help much. Good luck!
