buy an ooma box that plugs into your router and into any phone jack for whole house land line service. 4.00 per month for federal tax works perfectly on comcast for me over 5 years

You will continue to have access to phone messages online, given 99% of the calls I got when I switched over my landline to Triple play were robo calls, unsolicited marketing calls, etc., its nice to screen unwanted calls. I am dropping the XFinity phone soon as well as the cable TV. I'll just keep the Internet for now.
