Once connected this router should work like any other router. If your VOIP works on your current router then it should work on this router. This device has ports for XFinity phone service, if you subscribe to XFinity Phone Service (landline voice from Xfinity) then your phone should plug into the ports marked for voice/phone If you use a NON-XFinity Voip service then your ATA (the device the non-XFinity VOIP providers uses) should plug into one of the Ethernet ports on this Netgear device. The question is, if you are not using XFInity Voice or landline service and instead using a non-Xfinity service, you wouldn't need this Netgear model. You could buy another Netgear Xfinity compatible modem/router that would cost less and accomplish you needs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It worked for me and we jjust pugged it in and configured it like the leased Xfinity router. The phone line came up without us having to do anything.
