We kept our old router... the parents computers are on the one one and us gamers are on the new one... works great!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think you can. They have different configs. I tried to use my backup from my Nighthawk AC1900 and it didn't work. I had to manually type in the my IP address reserves.

Please try again later.I don't recommend trying to port over a backup from the 6700 as the 8000 has some settings that are not present in the earlier models. you might screw things up. i'd suggest copying and pasting individuals ip addresses over that way you can put them in faster without having to write them all down.
