It has a Park mode but I don't know how much you would really capture if hit from the side.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Rod, The Series 2 Cameras have an internal battery for emergency uses, such as the loss of power during an incident or Parking Mode. This will allow the camera to continue recording to the end of the clip before switching off. This internal battery has around 10-15 minutes of battery life without the rear camera, or less with the rear camera. If you would like for Parking Mode to work at any time, then I would suggest using a Nextbase Hard Wire Kit to install the dashcam instead. If you fit the hard wire kit to a permanently live fuse on your vehicle, the Hard Wire Kit will allow the camera to draw nominal current from the car's battery, preventing the cam's battery from being drained. The Hard Wire Kit has an in-built voltage cut off which protects the car's battery from being drained below 11.2V. The Hard Wire Kit can be purchased from BestBuy.
