• Yes. simply go to your account and delete or alter the "automatic renewal"

• It automatically renews you after the first year. However, you can go into your My.Norton account and cancel it after one year, so you are not permanently obligated, but they make it somewhat aggravating to cancel, and obviously they hope you won't.
