A:Answer I've asked this same question at least half a dozen times over the last year and employees at Best Buy always claim -- likely at the behest of orders from the top, and without logical backing -- to lie and say it's always a complete mystery/surprise when a shipment arrives. I wonder if this has something to do with allowing some insiders to get some dibs before the general outside public does. Logically, you -- IF, and that's a huge IF give even a tiny care about fairness you'd invite people to sign up to be placed on a waiting list so that first-come folks get theirs first, but those who joined later will also be assured their fair chance to get one as well later on. Best Buy only cares about selling the product and could care less about how. They aren't a people-first company. If they ever do claim they have fairness in mind in regards to these Nvidia cards they are doing not but lying and doing it without a shred of shame. I stopped shopping at Best Buy a long time ago, even before Amazon started selling such a large variety of goods, because I never got a good vibe / feeling shopping there. I would go to Target or Fry's Electronics or the like and usually not even go to Best Buy as a last resort. I see they haven't changed . You can ask as many employees as you want about this as well, which I do encourage SOME of, because ultimately you will be lied to and be wasting your time if you put too much energy into it. So, before I go, just one word to describe BB in a nutshell: JANKY.
