“What's an easy way to save on power consumption? I want to limit at 100fps (3440x1440p) and not waste power for anything not needed beyond that while gaming (will let it use all power when doing video editing,etc).”

Use the NVIDIA GeForce Control panel and set the frame rate limit to 100 fps - Global Settings. Or you can always use a program like Afterburner to try to find a stable undervolt for the card.
