The headset has built in audio by the head strap. It has pretty decent sound without headphones. But if you want a more immersive experience then headphones would do that for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.So...Audio is really awesome. I still don't know where it's coming from (I imagine the sides). The first thing I actually noticed is how crisp and clear the audio was. Plus, it's surround sound audio! When I turn my head, I notice that the sound that was originally coming from behind me is now coming from my left. I have never plugged in headphones because there's never been a reason for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The audio is great. However, I can see where the use of earbuds would clear out any background noise. This would be especially helpful if two people are each using one in the same room.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not an audio freak to me it was plenty loud but you can hear the outside world around you which true VR geeks dont like as it can take away from the experience. I personally had plans of changing everything prior to buyibg it using a Vive deluxe audio strap which has over the ear speakers much better sound but the headstrap ia way more balanced and gives much more comfort for if you play longer.just Google frankenquest. There is a guy on etsy uaing a 3D printer selling 2 moubting braxketsthat connect the head strap to the quest for like $13
