In theory the Maximum recording per single file in LP mode is 148 hrs However in reality you are really limited 60 Hrs because the batteries will run out first.

A:AnswerAbsolutely! This is how I use my recorder all the time. I copy the recordings to my desktop using the included patch cord and then open the recordings (WMA) with VLC software. That way I can easily move back and forth through the recording. I then move the recordings saved on my desktop to wherever I plan to archive them and then delete them from my recorder. I use a Mac computer at work. I imagine the process is nearly identical for a PC.
