• Yes, the RAM in this model can be upgraded with some disassembly. I recommend only attempting the upgrade if you are comfortable. Upgrading the RAM does not void the warranty.

• I don't believe so, you don't need the same ram just the same speed ram. Look for a respectable brand and you should be fine., take care!
