• Yes, sort of. You can use the computer after set up. However, I had to download the latest updates manually, which also included the latest OS version. That alone took about 1 hour to install. Plan on 2 hours to download and install all updates.

• There was no update required when we got ours. Kids was able to play right away. However it will depend when the computer was built. If it was on the shelf for more than 3 or 4 months I am sure there will be some updates when you first start it after purchase. Updates are usually no big deal and should not take too much of your time. Bob
