I am not sure about Sims - but it does play high end games like Skyrim Enhanced edition and Fallout 4 on ultra settings (I have a 1920 x 1080 monitor so that the settings I use) without a hiccup smoothly. As far as the board it does seem to be a pretty good one from what I have read, Better than a base board. The pc comes with 16gb Ram and is upgradable to 32gb which helps. It is probably the best gaming performance you will get for under $1,700
