Hello Jing, With the 7 speakers, are you using it as a home theater configuration or are you wanting to distribute music into other parts of the house? If you are doing home theater, then you don't need a separate amp since the receiver has the ability of being configured for 7.1 speaker configuration. But if you are doing the distribution of music into other rooms then it would be recommended to use a separate to power the speakers. Thank you Onkyo
