Refer to P86 of the manual and use the MOVIE/TV or MUSIC buttons on the remote at the bottom right to change the listening mode. See P100 for all the MUSIC Listening modes. if the source of the music is digital then the best mode would be AllCh Stereo.

This unit decodes just abut every sound mode available from the source material and the settings can be customized through the settings menu. The picture shows one example of how you can fine tune the settings of each speaker. There are lot more options and I would suggest visiting Onkyo's website where you can view the full manual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With a simple 4 ch surround system, I use Voice function @ +5db, and "DolbyDD+, Dolby Audio Surround setting" with the "Movie TV" button. Then, I use the EQ settings to add another + 6Db of additional gain within the typical voice frequencies, e.g. 300-4000Hz. Further, I typically set bass settings to as much as -10Db, and the treble to +10 Db.! Experiment to your own taste and circumstances.
