- Answer I believe Ooma charged me $39.99 to port my existing phone number to their system. It was well-worth the lower monthly fee I am now charged compared with the Frontier and Verizon VOIP services I used to have. Less than $7/mo now, or if I want premium features (call forwarding, etc), it would be $18/mo.

- Answer Yes, you will choose a phone number during setup whether you have a current number or not. If you port an old number then you can delete the new number. Otherwise, you keep the new number which you chose during setup.

QuestionI have to get starlink due to my location and want a phone because cell coverage is spotty. I heard i can connect ooma with starlink but have no idea how this works. Do I buy any phone, is there a specific phone it connects to. Can someone please explain.

- Answer I needed Starlink as well. You connect the Ooma to Starlink modem/router with the included patch cable, just as you would connect a computer. You can get an Ooma phone or use your own phone. I connected the Ooma to my house phone connection jack (with a normal phone cable), then my current (regular phone(s)) can then be connected to the other house wired phone jacks. You have to make sure the house is then disconnected from any phone company connections to your house. This is (typically) just one connection to a little box outside your house.

QuestionCan I hook all handsets in house to this? Currently they all come into a little old school adapter (each phone cord plugs into it) then plugs into the phone plug section in modem. Will that still work? I'd prefer not having to buy different adapters, etc.

- Answer You can get an Ooma phone or use your own phone. - Answer I am not sure I can answer that. Yes, it is possible to port your existing number to OOMA, if your current phone provider will allow it. As long as your current provider does not refuse to allow porting of your old number. yes you can. If you go to the OOMA website, there is a tool to help you determine if your old number is available to pprt.
