“Using the remote,how can I skip past the movie trailers to get to the movie menu? This is the first DVD player I've owned which doesn't have an obvious button for it.”

As soon as the dvd stars to play you will get the option to either play the movie or go to the main movie menu and that’s when the trailers start, if you don’t do it right away you will have to skip each one, one by one till you get to the main movie menu

I use the button labeled skip just to the right of the pause button in the middle of the remote.
