The Panasonic has SLIGHTLY better image quality which is said to be just a tiny bit more vibrant. And with Bluetooth built-in, the Sony is able to stream music directly to your Bluetooth speakers or headphones, bypassing all the wires and cables, if you want to. When it was on sale, the Sony X800M2 player was the same price as the Panasonic, but currently, the sale has ended and it is more. You might check other websites/online retailers where the price has not gone up yet, or ask Best Buy to do a price match.
