I used mine outside across my house, but would definitely consider using it on my tree if I didn’t already have that covered. Go for it, the cool scenes you can do with the HUE app is worth it!

On a 6-7’ tree, two of the 250-light string sets might honestly seem like overkill as you’re unboxing and setting them up, but once they were on the tree I feel that’s probably what most people would consider the “right amount.” The lights would cover every branch of that tree without question; no loose spruce.
