I have one installed outdoors however it is a covered porch.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The BT30 bulbs are not outdoor rated. Hue has the PAR-38 flood lights that are outdoor rated, though they are white light only. You might be able to use the BT30 bulbs outdoors if they were in a weatherproof fixture that protects them from the elements.

The bulbs are not really meant for outdoor use where they could get wet even though they do not get very hot. For my outdoor lights, I installed a Lutron Caseta switch that I could control through any number of apps. Lutron directly, Alexa, and Apple HomeKit in my case..
