This speaker is meant to be used with a 5.1 receiver and surround speakers while a sound bar tends to operate directly from the TV.

Please try again later.It is meant to replace or be in place of a sound bar, the quality of the sound greatly improves if you are adding other peripheral speakers left, right, rear. I found this Polk has better range and handles volume better than my Samsung sound bar. I removed sound bar with 4 speaker surround sound set up, replaced with 3 Polk speakers - center left right and had a noticeable improvement
