At first I thought it was suction that held it to phone but it comes with a very strong adhesive already attached to the Pop Socket. Peel the protective paper off and apply firmly to phone where you want to mount it.

There are replaceable pads that you can buy. But I pull mine on and off all the time. Is it a real popsocket or a knock off?

If your phone case is not smooth, it might not stick. If your phone case was greasy or dirty when you tried to apply the pop socket, it might not stick. I personally would not add extra glue to make it work. The glue that comes on it is more than sufficient. I believe the problem is either your case if it is not smooth or there was some debris of some sort that would not allow the glue to stick. You have to clean it first. Get another one and try again.
