“Why won't it fit? Refrigerator is model RSG257AARS/XAA. Official replacement part is supposed to be DA29-0000G. However, the locking mechanism has changed and it will not fit. Support insists it is compatible and keeps sending instructions on installing it. I've swapped filters a dozen times without problem, but the new ones just don't fit. What is the solution?”

Hi MAL, I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your filter. Though the design of the filter may be changed occasionally, the DA29-00003G (also referred to on Best Buy's website as DA29-0003G) is compatible with early filter part number DA29-00003B or model number HAF-CU1. If this new filter isn't fitting in your RSG257AARS/XAA, please first try turning off the water supply, which can help to alleviate pressure and may enable the filter to be installed. If the problem persists, please contact Best Buy or Samsung for assistance determining if the filter housing may be damaged or if the filter cartridge is defective. Thank you, Ms. Samsung
