This filter is the perfect fit for the Samsung refrigerator and it is a simple twist on and twist off design. I marked the outside of the filter with a Sharpie pen the date I installed the filter.

The two keys on opposite sides of the connector are different from the original water filters, and will not permit installation. Very frustrating, since the part number is the same as specified in the original equipment. What am I to do now that the old filter has expired?

The mounting interface for this filter has been redesigned. The new replacement filter will not install in my Samsung Refrigerator.

This is a great filter and is easy to install. Its as simple as insert, twist and it locks into place. The only downside I have is that it is pretty expensive at $50 for only about 3-4 months of use. I'll be honest, I try to stretch my dollar out farther due to the cost and leave mine in there for at least 6 months. The water still taste great after the 6th month of use. It would be nice if the price could drop so everyone could replace it more often. Overall its nice & easy!

If you have a water dispenser in your Samsung refrigerator, you have 3 choice when it comes to filters. You can go without, you can purchase Samsung's replacement filter or you can buy an aftermarket product. Of course you could go with an alternative filter device like a Brita or a reverse osmosis device. Because we were unable to find any test results for the aftermarket product, we opted for the Samsung branded product which is at a 2-3x price of an aftermarket filter. If you follow the suggested 6 month replacement interval your paying about $100 a year for the filters. The Samsung product seem to work well when removing chlorine and other objectionable tastes. However, since I don't have a lab at my disposal, I don't know how effective it is at eliminating harmful chemicals.

It fits in perfect and keeps the water filtered. Just make sure that you also have a paper towel to clean up any stray water.

This water filter keeps your water and your ice tasting fresh. I continue to choose this one because it continually performs well. Plus it is easy to install and priced right.

I had ordered the Samsung water filter online & i received the wrong size several times. Out of frustration, i walked into Best Buy in hopes of finding the right one there & to my surprise, there was a Best Buy Brand that was half the price. I purchased that one & it fits perfectly & looks exactly the same. Wish Best Buy would have told me they sell replacement filters when they delivered & installed my frig. But, now i know so all i need to do is get a lesson on how to replace it & reset the frig so that it knows there was a new one put in (I had to have Geek Squad come install it for me because when i attempted with the Samsung one that was sent to me, it made the waterline leak all over my floor & inside my frig & down to the freezer…what a mess). Aplarently u MUST turn the water off before replacing these…its “suggested” to turn it off in Samsung’s instrucrions online, but I’m here to tell you, it’s NOT a suggestion!

One of the best filters I have ever purchased. I would buy this filter again. The filter fit right into my fridge. It went in with little to no effort. The water flowed again, and my wife was happy.

Tried to keep it short. I failed. I read all the reviews and specs of many filters and decided to continue buying genuine Samsung filters. I didn't have to modify the 'teeth' to fit in my fridge. It just worked like the ones I was buying from Lowe's or Home Depot. Getting them from Best Buy means points and $10 savings by getting a subscription. Thanks for catching up with the rest of the commodity e-tailers. Why genuine Samsung: We were really tired of spending $50 every six months. One year we bought two so it didn't feel so bad replacing the second one. So we started looking for cheaper replacements. I'll save you the details and give you the bottom line: Samsung's filters filter out more harmful stuff than the cheaper ones. The cheap ones only filter out 'taste' and one even claims to not filter out "helpful nutrients" so you feel good about buying it. What they mean is IRON because they don't filter out diddly but chlorine and large contaminates. We get our water from a well and have a Whole-House filter right at the pump. The genuine fridge filters filter out a lot of bacteria, microbes, metals and yes, Iron. Our water is triple-filtered (Earth>well filter>fridge filter) so it's pretty safe, and this is safer. But if I lived where I had to use "city water," I'd want to protect myself after hearing of so many municipalities’ water systems failing suddenly and large communities being told not to drink the water for the foreseeable future. Don't let your child be the first symptom to your city's water problems.

It's just a water filter. The water tastes a bit better and comes out a little colder from the fridge. It was easy to install, and works well.

We replace our filter quite often in our Samsung fridge and these replacements work the best. Easy to replace, solid fit and great tasting water!

I have nothing but good things to say, except as I stated before, I wish the filter's life would last longer for the rather expensive $50 price tag. I live alone & am the only user of the fridge in my house, so I don't go through THAT much water. I still have to replace it every 6 months, or so. So, for me, it's kind of expensive for the usage I get from it. I'm sure, if more people used it, it'd have to be replaced more often. Otherwise, it filters out all unwanted/potentially harmful impurities from my drinking water just fine!

Easy to install. Significantly improved water quality and flavor. This product is a bit pricey but very well worth. If you own a Samsung refrigerator it’s best to use the Samsung replacement water filter as other generic water filters will not work nearly as well. I also discovered that my fridge automatically will not make ice cubes if the filter is outdated.

I purchased my Samsung Refrigerator about 7 years ago and I have always used the same Water Filter by Samgsung. This is because it is easy to install, it works great and it lasts a long time. Although, I see cheaper water filters advertised, I refuse to purchase them simply because I do not want any surprises.

We've used these cartridges for about five years now, and they're great. Getting six months out of them is good for the price, otherwise the price point becomes irritating. They're easy to change out and the water tastes great. The only frustration is having to 'waste' a lot of water running the filter through before drinking. I tend to use less than recommended and haven't encountered anything negative as a result.
