You can aim them with ease, but they have a pretty wide area.. Tgey have a setting for small dogs, under 50lbs, my 75 lb golden tripped it easily. I have window, door sensors and motion. When the dog is home, I set the alarm to Home and it turns everything on except motion. When the dog and we are away, I fully arm the system and get motion as well. This scenario is working for me. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know you can turn other system detectors upside down and place at least 4 feet high to avoid animals. I was hoping a Ring user has done this and it has worked. Thanks everyone
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I have dog and cats that set them off. I placed one in a room they don't go in. Not ideal but better than not using sensor. Most likely a burglar would check all rooms and motion sensor picks up door opening. Other was placed in garage which is nice in summer when I have garage open often and can turn on notices from sensor (I don't have professional monitoring and that is one of the reasons).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think that would defeat the purpose. You can set the alarm to “stay” and then the sensors work but don’t set off an alarm if they detect the dogs. That is what I do
