Hello Bob, Ring Smart Lights including the Spotlight Battery, have light sensor feature that can be enabled to prevent the light from activating during the day. If needed you can always enable lights manually via the Ring App, Ring.Com, or Amazon Alexa device. Light schedules, brightness, and other features are all controlled via the Ring App. For more information: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/sections/360003649131-Spotlights. Also Ring Community was launched to help deliver the most current news and educational information to our neighbors. This online forum is divided into four categories: Product Boards, Ring Updates, Tips + Tricks, and a Moderators’ Corner. The Product Boards are where you can begin new topics with your questions or feedback; there is also a search option which helps you find topics that were already posted by other neighbors. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the sensor detects motion 24/7 unless you set it not to. It also has a dusk to dawn setting so it will not turn the light on during the day time but still detect motion. You can also disable the motion detection all together or turn the light on whenever you like. The light is only triggered by motion, manually or if you have it linked to another ring device. (IT DOES NOT STAY ON CONSTANTLY)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My light will come on in the daytime if I walk in front of it. The only problem with that is the batteries will not last as long.
