“2 HDMI selective inputs, one cable with switched sources. Will splitter work on "too smart TV"between cable end & the 2 HDMI inputs? I have a Cable box & a Blu-Ray player feeding through a HDMI switch to a single HDMI cable in a wall to my TV location. Switching worked fine with my old single HDMI input TV but my "smart" TV with 2 HDMI inputs only accepts the cable signal at HDMI 1 & the Blu-Ray at HDMI 2 necessitating moving the single cable manually to either input and selecting the appropriate input on the TV screen. Will the splitter solve the problem if I choose the source feed at my switch and select the HDMI input on screen since the splitter sends the same signal to both TV inputs? ( Seems like it should.) Maybe?”

With HDCP (High Definition Copyright Protection) most likely causing the issue, I'm unable to answer your question. There are many variables, so in this instance I would suggest trying your idea under the 14 day return policy.
