• I have no idea what kind of signal loss is involved, but I have used a signal amplifier in situations where I had weak reception.

• I think that you should see if you can get the same type that the cable company uses, as they are fairly sneaky to only allow certain one to work as all cable QOS , or quality of service depends on that signal. ask them if it is compatible with there system and has the right ranges.
