“I have a blu-ray player sending out a 192kHz signal and a DAC capable of receiving this signal, but all I get is a 48kHz signal to the DAC from an 8 ft cable. The DAC would automatically switch to the better signal if it was receiving it. What is wrong?”

• It's most likely is not the cable unless it is damaged. If the cable is malfunctioning it will most likely drop in and out at all and any sampling rates.
