Are the Toslink fibers plastic or glass? Thank you null

Most basic Toslink cables are plastic. The very expensive high-end cables are glass.

From handling this cable, I would venture a guess plastic. It has been very durable and still works after being bent. For such a short range, i am not sure there is much of an advantage with transmission quality of glass over plastic.
