• I have a 43 inch tv and it sits about 7.5 inches from the top of the tv bracket , but the mount is adjustable , it depends on what size tv your buying

• The measurement approach is laid out in the installation guide, so it depends if you’re going to have anything on top of entertainment unit and the size of your TV.
