Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First of all I wouldn’t recommend mounting a TV on sheet rock. Sheet rock is not structural. This mount is wide enough to ensure you hit a stud. This kit comes with all the mounting hardware you need to mount your TV to a block or brick wall or a stucco wall like mine. I used a stud finder and made sure I hit two studs. Now to answer your original question..,,It goes by the weight of your TV. Make sure the mount you choose will handle the weight of your particular TV. Secondly you have to make sure this mount will handle the size of your TV. Once you are sure the weight and size are correct for your particular TV you’re good to purchase your mount. This mount had adjustable brackets to fit the back of any TV. This mount was easy to install and had all the hardware you would need to mount this to any suitable wall.
