I had the same problem. You have to use the Studs or your TV will end up on the floor. You can move the TV side to side on the mount. You have about 6" on each side to move.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can be slid side to side. You can slide it approximately 6 inches from center either direction.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will move from side to side. I would estimate about 6 inches either way. I had the same issue you did.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and No, Depends on how far from center your off, and how big your TV is. The bigger the TV the wider the brackets on the TV are spaced. However, with that said. I was able to slide my 55'' Visio to center it fairly close.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Attach a scrape piece of 3/4” plywood to the wall studs using 2” wood screws. Position the Mount on the plywood so your TV will be centered as you like it for the room. Secure the Mount to the plywood using attachment hardware that comes with the Mount.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I dont understand why people are say ing 6 inches ,if you mount the bracket into studs you should be able to slide it any where you want? no?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It didn't slide on us and we even had trouble finding studs for the location we wanted it in. It's been up for about a month now and no issues.
