“We have an older smart tv that will not get discovery plus. Thinking of getting this, have access to a hdmi port , but not easy access to electric plug. Does this just plug into the hdmi port only and not need electric plug also?”

I did just that on the bedroom tv and it is working great

It does need powers you’d probably need an extension cord or we use a surge pad for multiple plugs. Otherwise all you need is an hdmi port

Hi, Donnat! While the Roku Express does need to plug into an HDMI port and the power outlet Roku also offers the Streaming Stick that can plug into your HDMI port and then the USB port so it doesn't need to be close to the power outlet.
