Best Buy has some incorrect info - this (SKU # 5812200) microwave has the same watts as the stainless version, "950 watts". You will see the error if you add this microwave to COMPARE, it will incorrectly show it as a 1600w unit and also state that it is has convection - which is also not true. Someone asked the question about the incorrect convection listing before and I guess Best Buy still hasn't fixed it. To answer the general question, all things considered, units listing more watts means more powerful, faster cooking times.
