• No waterline connection required. I connected mine without a waterline since I do not use a ice maker.

• Greetings! We appreciate your question about the waterline being needed if the Samsung refrigerator you will purchase does not include the ice maker. If you decide not to purchase the Auto Ice Maker you need not purchase and connect a water line to this Samsung refrigerator model. Leo
