It does not. It uses condensation drying and this combined with the door automatically popping open when complete does a great job drying the dishes and saves energy. Works great for us.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So there is no "heated dry". This was a big question for me as I didn't think the dishes would dry without a heater. Well they have it figured out. The dishwasher has a small fan built in and when the cleaning cycle is complete the door will automatically open and the fan continues to "dry" the dishes. They are dry! I will say that if you have cups with a lip on the bottom, water will stand in them if they are not loaded at an angle, this is not much different than our old model that had a heated dry. Even that didn't dry the standing water on those items. Adjust the angle and everything comes out dry!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This thing is worthless when it comes to actually totally drying the dishes. The more dishes you put in it the less dry they will be at the end! The so-called helpful hints from Samsung are a joke and do no good at all. Designing a dishwasher, especially an expensive one, without a heated drying cycle was a GIANT mistake!! I don't think much of Samsung appliances at this moment. TV's are great, NOT appliances.
