“Is it safe to remove the back panel of the pedestal permanently? I have a long gas pipe that we would like to avoid cutting that will sit behind the machine...just under the top of the pedestal. It would be great for our limited space if we could set the machines back as far as possible. if we removed that back panel, a couple inches of that pipe could sit inside that space. Is that doable? We're looking at the wf520abp model. Thanks”

Thanks for the question. Samsung recommends installing the back panel on the pedestal for added stability which helps to maximize the reduction of vibration and noise. In addition, without the back panel in place, the pedestal drawer could press against the gas line if it were partially housed inside the pedestal, which would not be recommended. - Ms. Samsung
