A:AnswerYou don't need to connect a water line if you don't want the pitcher auto-filled and ice to be made. That said, you can run a water line from a water source and snake it around behind cabinets, or through wall discretely. Most modern kitchens should have a stub out behind the fridge for water line connection. In my case, while the house was being built, I had the output from an R.O. filter unit run to the spigot on the sink and junction off to the fridge connection point - it has it's own shutoff valve.
